Moderator Birgitte Jallov, Director, Coach, Adviser, Trainer and Consultant at EMPOWERHOUSE, launches themes of importance for income generation for radio every day. Some of the discussion forums had to be closed already, because the big number of contributions made it difficult to navigate.
The concept paper and daily summaries are available on the CAMECO resources site covering stories from Latin America, Africa and Asia with the following headlines:
– Income generation and sustainability (ownership, quality of programmes etc)
– Mobilising the community for income generation / Barter and in-kind support to radios
– On-air income generation
– Off-air income generation
– What kind of income is acceptable?
– Using community radio networks to raise income
– Effective strategic management of Community Radios – for stable income generation
– Enabling, legal framework for community radio stations
– Collaboration with local and national governments
The CAMECO site furthermore presents profiles with a focus on income-generation of the following stations:
SAMAD FM, Nepal
Radio Wa, Uganda
Radio Pa’i Puku, Paraguay
Radio Salaki, Burkina Faso
Radio Media Village, India
A section was opened with documentation from debate participants:
A strategic plan of Radio Mang’elete, Kenya
Evaluation Report Radio Karagwe, Tanzania
Income Analysis Radio Karagwe, Tanzania
Advocacy for an integrated solution for community radios in Chad
Looking forward to welcome you during the second week of the online debate,
Sofie Jannusch (CAMECO)
