Effect of Communication on HIV Prevention and Living with HIV/AIDS
Hi - hope that all is well. Many people in The Drum Beat network have requested a document that provides the advocacy argument for why communication based strategies are such an important and vital part of an overall HIV/AIDS strategy.
Just a reminder that Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Center for Communication Programs (JHU CCP) produced a document that "offers 10 key points for discussion around the impact of communication on HIV prevention and living with HIV/AIDS. It explores the role of mass media programmes in effecting population-based health and medical changes.

Community radios and TV drama help reduce inequities While in large cities Internet access is available, in remote areas people have no Internet access and are fighting for daily pittance. Using community radios helps reaching people including farmers and illiterates. Even in larger cities like Cotonou, only few people have an email and the Internet costs between 0.5 to 1USD per hour.
