Written by Hannah Bowen from Malaria No More, this journal article discusses the impact of a national communications campaign in Cameroon launched in July 2011 to accompany the distribution of free long-lasting insecticide treated nets (LLINs) in an effort to reduce the significant morbidity and mortality burden of malaria in the country. The KO Palu NightWatch communications campaign was designed to ensure that as the nets were delivered, they would be used consistently. The findings suggest an important role for mass media behaviour change communications in ensuring that available bed nets are used appropriately to prevent malaria.
