CONTEXT: Development requires impact evidence. Measuring and reporting the impact of the social, cultural, and personal dynamics and programmes related to development challenges and priorities is difficult.

REQUIREMENT: Credible data requires credible research methodologies. How the data is collected and analysed is subject to scrutiny.

PURPOSE: Critically review, discuss and debate credible methodologies for research on communication and media for development/social and behavioural change themes.

OUTCOMES: Participants depart with two new ideas to strengthen their research and evaluation work; Participants contribute to the development of a short paper that provides a critical overview of research credibility for this field.

Please note that we will also be using this space for the presentation by Dr Sebastian Taylor of the methodology and findings from the DC Nigeria household health decision-making research. By placing here we can build on the discussions held in London with further contributions from the DC meeting 26 May, 2015.
