Sarah Eckhoff has over five years of experience in reproductive health and family planning programming. Sarah has worked at both the headquarters and field level across a myriad of different project implementation areas, including program management and systems, and across technical areas including adolescent and youth sexual reproductive health, gender, and sport for development.

Sarah has worked with adolescent girls in Thailand, Uganda, and Kenya through sport-based programs and continues to seek opportunities to bring a gendered-lens to sport-based development programming. She has provided technical assistance through documentation, project close-out, strategy development, and operations management in Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Mozambique, Tanzania, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

After receiving her Master of Arts degree in International Development and Global Health Affairs with a concentration in Gender Issues at the Korbel School for International Studies at the University of Denver, Sarah worked domestically to assess barriers among school-aged Colorado children in accessing government-supported food assistance programs.

In addition, she has conducted forecasting exercises projecting the potential impact of public health interventions on a wide array of development outcomes based on data from family planning and malaria projects. Recently, Sarah returned to Pathfinder International as the Technical Advisor for Gender where she works to address gender-related issues including sexual and gender-based violence, gender inequality and power dynamics, and related outcomes including early marriage and HIV throughout Pathfinder’s portfolio of projects.
