Sanitation and Health - UN Resolution on Sanitation

In Uganda, government currently spends 389 billion a year treating diseases related to sanitation. Why not pay attention to preventive measures? Well I am glad that the United Nations General Assembly has adopted Singapore's UN resolution entitled "Sanitation for All", with 19 November being designated as World Toilet Day. The resolution calls for greater attention to be paid to the global sanitation crisis through the commemoration of World Toilet Day. The Initiative for Social and Economic Rights (ISER) www.iser-uganda.org is in the process of producing a video on sanitation in schools and how it affects learning. Watch the space! Angella Nabwowe
