I received my Bachelor degree in English Literature and Translation from Bethlehem University, and then I received a "Fulbright" Scholarship to finish her M.A. degree in English/American Literature at the Catholic University of America. I started my professional career as a teacher of English language at Bethlehem University. From 1994-1998 I acted as the Business Manager of The Jerusalem Times (a Palestinian weekly in English). In 1999, I founded and acted as the Director General of the Palestinian Youth Association for Leadership and Rights Activation (PYALARA) where I am responsible for leading the process of establishing and empowering a new generation of young leaders in addition to supervising many media outlets aiming for developing the society in general and youth in particular. In 1998, I established and edited The Youth Times; the first Palestinian youth newspaper. In 2005, I founded along with a number of Women Leaders, the International Women’s Commission for a Just and Sustainable Palestinian-Israeli Peace. In January 2006, I ran as a candidate for the Palestinian Legislative Council Elections within the "Third Way" national list. Currently, I serve as a member of the board of trustees of the Arab-American University in Jenin; the Vice-President of the Democracy and Workers’ Rights Center; Member of the board of Trustees of Miftah and FATEN.
I was nominated a “Global Leader for Tomorrow” in 2002, a “Young Arab Leader” in 2003, and a “Young Global Leader” in 2005. I am an author of several articles and a keynote speaker at a number of international conferences.
