The Voice of Children in the Global Arena

Starting next April, children and youth around the world will, like Malala, be able to denounce the violation of their rights before a special United Nations body. This will be possible thanks to the enactment of the third Facultative Protocol of the Convention of the Rights of the Child, which was approved by the UN General Assembly. This instrument will enter into force because it has been ratified by ten UN Member States, two of which - Bolivia and Costa Rica - ratified the protocol just a few days ago. http://www.comminit.com/children/content/voice-children-global-arena

Every Child Counts

For many years The State of the World’s Children report has been considered the quintessential gauge of the progress being made around the world toward ensuring the quality of life for children and protecting their rights. The recently launched 2014 report, titled Every Child Counts, contains statistics that make it possible to analyze disparities by place of residence and levels of household wealth, as well as data about early childhood development, and the situation of adolescents and of women to mention a few. http://www.comminit.com/children/content/every-child-counts
