Corinne Podger is a media development practitioner and journalism trainer with more than 20 years experience reporting for global news brands including the BBC World Service and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
Corinne is a part-time Policy Manager with BBC Media Action, which delivers journalism capacity-building training worldwide. Through her consultancy Media Proactive Limited, she also designs and delivers training for Journalism.Co.Uk, Thomson Reuters Foundation, SciDev.Net, the World Federation of Science Journalists, and Open Colleges Australia. She reports on international development issues for Devex.
Prior to launching her consultancy in 2014, Corinne managed journalism curricula for the Media Development division of Thomson Reuters Foundation, the charitable arm of the global news agency Reuters.
Corinne joined TRF from the international division of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, where she reported for and produced flagship television and radio news programs for the Asia-Pacific region from 2007-2012. Corinne was a journalist with the BBC World Service from 1996-2006, covering international news, science, health, technology, climate change, the environment and religion.
She has also written for The Economist, The Times, and the Daily Telegraph.
