I am Masters in Development Communication & Extension specialising in grassroots communication, health and women studies, community development, development journalism, content creation and advocacy. Currently doing a PhD on Community Radio models and impact on development in villages in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka & United States at the University of Delhi, I am linking social non-profit communication tool of radio to community development and policy in the four countries. A Fulbright Doctoral Fellow to New York University (2012-13), I have in depth researched the community media in United States.
In the past I have worked with UNICEF & UNDP as short term consultants for development projects. Along with being a guest faculty of Gender Studies, Community Health and Development Communication at the University of Delhi, I have worked as an independent consultant on communication advocacy tool creations.
A major part of my career has included my work with a Member of Parliament in his Development team implementing projects in his constituency, along with assisting him in his parliamentary work on issues of women & child development, health & education. Recognised as a Global Community Champion for Women Economic Empowerment by UN Women, New York.
