Dr. Goldmon serves as the Interim Director of the Institute for Health, Social and Community Research at Shaw University and Assistant Professor of Ministry in Context at Shaw University Divinity School (SUDS). He is also an ordained elder in the historically African-American Christian Methodist Episcopal Church and holds appointments as Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Health Behavior/Health Education at UNC-Chapel Hill and the Department of Health Education at North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC.

Dr. Goldmon has over 25 years of combined experience in academic, church and community settings as a faculty member, program planner and evaluator, researcher, pastor, administrator, health educator, inspirational speaker and consultant. He possesses a broad knowledge and skill base in health disparities research including a keen awareness of the challenges and rewards of developing and sustaining multidisciplinary collaborations as a strategy for conducting research, interventions and disseminating information. Dr. Goldmon has completed independent and collaborative health disparities research projects and interventions, served as a mentor and advisor to graduate and post-doctoral students, served as a grant reviewer for the NIH National Center for Minority Health and Health Disparities and is a peer reviewer for two professional public health journals. He has published in newsletters, magazines, training and resource manuals as well as in professional peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Religion, Spirituality, and Aging; Health Promotion Practice; Journal of the National Medical Association; Progress in Community Health Partnership: Research, Education and Action; Journal of Palliative Medicine; NC Med. Journal; Academic Medicine. He is frequently called upon to disseminate information about health disparities research and interventions through local, state and national lectures, presentations and seminars in both professional and community based settings. He has given state and national lectures, motivational presentations and conducted seminars on topics related to personal, professional, organizational and community development, health promotion, the elimination of health disparities, leadership, and program evaluation. As an active community servant he is Chair of the Empower Us to Help Us ministry of the Carolina Region Annual Conference, a member of the North Carolina State University Urban Advisory Council, the Faith and Health Advisory Council of the North Carolina Council of Churches' Partners in Health and Wholeness Program and a Board member of the Gramercy Institute for Empowering Communities. Dr. Goldmon is directed by a mandate to glorify God. The mandate is fulfilled as he strives to be a Kingdom Ambassador who emulates the character and ways of Jesus Christ. His foundational emphasis is on helping individuals and organizations to discover and manifest their true purpose.
